Gartner, Inc. is an organization that functions as a consultant. It assists its clients in making the right decisions pertaining to anything related to technology. Of course, before it does give out any suggestions to its clients, it does its own research about the market and about technology so as to give their clients the right kind of advice.

And now, Gartner has informed the world of technology that many businesses are very much likely to spend around $20.3 billion. This huge amount would be spent on IP screen phones which has gained much fame and reputation because of the various advancements and developments in the IP telephony area. The organization is claiming that this amount had started accumulating since last year and it would continue to around 2010.

Bob Hafner is the managing vice president for Gartner and he further explains, “Many companies are replacing old phones with fancy, screen-based IP phones and IP/PBXs with related hardware, however, most users continue to use the new phones like their old phones, only with a few new capabilities, such as viewing missed calls or for directory dialing. Ironically, in most businesses, the IP screen phone is placed on the desk beside a PC that has a much bigger and higher resolution screen.”
